Some of my favorite memories as a kid are from Halloween. Does anyone else remember the plastic masks from the 1980s that left you barely able to breathe because they only had a tiny hole for your mouth? Good times.

Free Halloween Amigurumi Patterns

I also chose only patterns that were from reliable crochet designers. There are so many free Halloween amigurumi patterns out there, but since I can’t make them all I only wanted to include those from designers that are trustworthy.

It’s no fun to work on a pattern and find out halfway through that it was written totally incorrectly. Urgh!

Crochet Frankenstein Candy Pouch

When I was looking for fun free halloween amigurumi pattens, this one caught my eye immediately. It was something about that bright green color and sweet little smile drew me in.

But it also reminded me of the 1974 movie, Young Frankenstien. Do you remember the dance scene between the Monster and Dr. Frankenstien? One of my favorite movies ever!

I love that it’s a simple little candy pouch, but it also includes a little drawstring to close it up. You think that would work to keep me from dipping into the Halloween candy??? Probably not strong enough to keep me out, lol.

Repeat Crafter Me is one of the most talented and prolific crochet designers out there and this little Halloween design is just adorable.

It worked up super quickly and hardly used any yarn at all, it’s the perfect stash buster.

Sharlotte Spider

If you don’t know Katie from the Yarn Society yet, let me introduce you.

Welcome to Katie’s world of the most adorable and sweetest amigurumi projects. She has so many wonderful tutorials on her YouTube channel including the cutest little spider, which is perfect for Halloween.

I love that Katie made hers in sweet pastels, but you could also make them in spooky, scary colors too.

What is so sweet is that Katie came up with this design when her little girl became afraid of spiders. She crocheted the amigurumi spider and it worked to help her daughter not to be afraid. I love that so much.

So if you have some little ones that are a little too afraid of the spooky, haunted Halloween toys, this one would make a wonderful alternative.

Crochet Witchy Hat

Roz from Play Hooky With Me has so many wonderful tutorials on her YouTube channel and this is so darn cute.

Technically it isn’t amigurumi, but a garment, but we are just going to overlook that little technicality.

This would be such a fun project to make and to have for years to come espeically when handing out candy to trick-or-treaters or if you have a costume party to go to.

I would also love to tie a big orange ribbon around it to add a little fun and color.

Ghost Advent Calendar

My kids would have loved something like this when they were little, who am I kidding? They would love it now.

This would be the perfect project to help kids get excited about Halloween (do they need help getting excited?) and to count down the days.

There are thirty-one little pockets and every day you move the little candy piece to the new day. How clever is that?

Zombie

I’m sort of into cute Halloween decorations and this one is totally adorable.

Jillian Hewitt is the incredibly talented designer behind Spin a Yarn Crochet. She creates the cutest amigurumi toys and this little Zombie pattern is one of my favorites.

I love that his eye is popping right out of his head! There are so many spooky details in this pattern.

Not only will you get the free pattern on her webiste, but she also has a video tutorial for how to make the “brains”. I had to watch it to see how she made them and it’s brilliant!

Be Witchy Wall Hanging

If you love quirky, you will love Amber from Devine Debris who makes the most fun crochet patterns. Her personality shines through in everything she designs.

I absolutely love her Be Witchy Wall Hanging. Plus there are little black kitty cats on the bottom and y’all know how I feel about my cats (and if you don’t, I’m pretty much totally obsessed with mine).

Candy Corn Family

This pattern is one from yours truly. I designed this cute little Candy Corn family two years ago and I still love seeing their smiling faces.

I got super into this deign and came up with names and personalities for each of the candy corn characters.

Here’s the cliff notes version:

Dad, Christopher Corn is a devoted husband and father. He enjoys golfing and DIY projects.
Mom, Candace (better known as Candy) Corn loves baking and is particularly well known for her Boston Cream pies.
Caroline Corn, is the baby of the family and spends her days giggling and blowing raspberries.

I wasn’t kidding when I said I got super into this little family of Candy Corn, lol

Crochet Witch Gnomes

Jen Hayes has a way with gnomes!

And these are just the cutest! Seriously! I love those long black, gray and orange braids. The striped stockings are also such a cute detail.

Jen’s patterns are so well written and there are many great photos throughout to help.

Make sure to check out her pattern for the witch’s broom and the cauldron (which was originally designed as a pot of gold, but looks just as good as a witch’s cauldron) as well!

Crochet Mini Ghosts

Vincent from Knot Bad is one of my favorite amigurumi designers. I love that he challenges the stereotype that only middle aged moms crochet toys in their basement craft rooms. Oh wait…. that’s just me.

Vincent has a punk rock exterior but his sweet personality shines through his designs as well. I’ve also seen him in several interviews and he has so much compassion for other people and freely shares the struggles he’s gone through.

These little crochet mini ghosts are just adorable. I love how you can make their faces look different too.

I also had to look up what chibi means and I found that it is a Japanese word meaning little, short and it implies cuteness. These definitely fit that description.
